DockWise

Early access: applications open

Earn 25% on eligible DockWise referrals

DockWise reads a marina's real layout, your boat and the live conditions, and tells a skipper what the day actually asks of them. If you write, teach, broker, survey or simply talk boats, you can share it and earn a quarter of what your referrals pay.

We're reviewing founding affiliates now. Applications are open and we'll be in touch once your account and link are ready. We don't publish a start date we can't keep.

25% of what your referrals pay

On every eligible DockWise product, calculated on the amount actually paid after any discount.

One link, no setup

Share your link anywhere. Visits are recorded on our servers, so nothing depends on you tracking anything.

A dashboard you can trust

Every click, every attributed order, every commission and its state: pending, approved, paid or reversed.

No bank logins, ever

We never ask for your banking credentials. Payout details are arranged separately with minimal information.

What earns commission

  • DockWise Pro Lifetime ($99 one-time, retired)Retired from sale 1 Oct 2026. Existing holders keep it; no new checkout, so no sale price. Historical commissions stay valid.
  • DockWise Today Annual ($39/year)Sale discounts the first year only; renewals bill at full price. Commission on the first payment by default.
  • DockWise Today Monthly ($5.99/month)Excluded from the sale (a discounted month is not a meaningful offer). Commission on the first payment by default.
  • Boat Handling Report ($39)Requires its one-time price to be configured before it can be sold or discounted.
  • Compatibility Comparison ($19)Requires its one-time price to be configured before it can be sold or discounted.
  • My Docking Difficulty ($9)Requires its one-time price to be configured before it can be sold or discounted.

What doesn't

  • 2027 Founding Partner ($199, business program)A limited-seat business program with its own terms and its own $199 price. It is NOT the consumer DockWise Pro Lifetime product, and it is never discounted and never commissioned.
  • Custom marina, insurance and negotiated business arrangementsBespoke and negotiated. Excluded from both the sale and commission until the owner approves margins and terms.
  • Free tools and sample reports, sales tax, refunded or disputed orders, and payment processing fees.

How the money works

Commission is a quarter of what the buyer actually paid for the product, after any discount and excluding tax.

A $100 product bought during a 25%-off sale costs $75, so your commission is $18.75.

Discounts and affiliate credit are tracked separately, so a sale never quietly reduces what you're owed below that calculation.

Program terms

The program is open to individuals and businesses based in the United States, where we can pay reliably and meet reporting rules. Other countries may be added later; until then we will say so honestly rather than approve someone we cannot pay.

What you earn
25% of the amount a referred customer actually pays for an eligible DockWise product, after any discount and excluding sales tax, refunds and payment-processing fees. Example: a $100 product bought at 25% off costs $75, so the commission is $18.75. All amounts are in US dollars.
Eligible products
Self-service DockWise products: Pro Lifetime, Pro Annual, Pro Monthly, the individual Boat Handling, Compatibility and Docking Difficulty reports, and the DockWise Dealer Plan (monthly or annual). Free tools, sample reports, free dealer pilot months and any Compatibility report a dealer includes at no charge to the buyer earn nothing, because nothing was paid. Custom marina, insurance and negotiated business arrangements, insurance transactions, third-party services, and the separate 2027 Founding Partner business program are not part of the affiliate program.
Subscriptions
For consumer subscriptions, commission is paid on a referred customer's first subscription payment. Renewals do not earn commission unless DockWise says otherwise in writing.
Dealer subscriptions
When a dealership you refer becomes a paid DockWise Dealer Plan subscriber, you earn 25% of each eligible dealer subscription payment collected during the 12 months that begin with that dealership's first successful paid subscription payment. Example: $99 a month earns $24.75 for each paid month in that window, up to $297 if every month is paid. An annual $990 payment collected when the window begins earns $247.50. An annual payment collected later in the window earns only for the months of the window it covers. The window starts once and is never restarted or extended: pausing, cancelling, reactivating, or switching between monthly and annual billing does not create a new window, and payments collected after the window ends earn nothing. The free 30-day dealer pilot earns nothing.
How a dealership referral is credited
The most recent eligible affiliate link a dealership used before it submitted its pilot request or finished setting up its DockWise account is credited. Once the dealership is set up, that referral is locked to the dealership for dealer subscription commission and cannot be replaced by a later link. If the dealership does not make a first paid payment within 12 months of setup, the referral lapses. DockWise may correct a referral only for a documented error or fraud, and records the reason.
Compatibility bought in a dealer context
If a buyer pays for a Compatibility report through a valid referral, 25% applies to the amount actually paid, under these terms, including when the referral belongs to a dealer or salesperson. When an active dealer includes Compatibility at no charge to the buyer, no commission is earned. A single payment never earns more than one commission.
How a referral is credited
When someone opens your link we record the visit on our server and store a signed referral marker in their browser for 30 days. If they buy an eligible product inside that window, the most recent eligible affiliate link is credited. Someone who buys without an active marker is not attributed, and a visitor who clears their browser data or blocks cookies cannot be credited.
When a commission is paid
A commission is created only after a payment succeeds. It stays pending for 30 days to cover refunds and disputes, then becomes approved. Refunded, disputed, charged-back or cancelled orders reverse a pending or approved commission in full. If that commission was already paid, we record a negative adjustment that is reviewed by DockWise and offset against future earnings. DockWise never debits your bank account.
Payouts
Payouts are reviewed and sent manually, once a month, once your approved balance reaches $50. A balance below $50 carries over. If participation ends we pay any approved balance in a final payout even if it is under $50. DockWise never asks for your bank login. Payment details are collected outside the app through a verified payment provider or a manual arrangement.
Who can join
The program is open to individuals and businesses based in the United States, where we can pay reliably and meet reporting rules. Other countries may be added later; until then we will say so honestly rather than approve someone we cannot pay. You must be at least 18 and applying as yourself or on behalf of a business you are authorised to represent.
Taxes and your own status
You take part as an independent participant, not an employee, agent, partner or representative of DockWise, and you cannot sign anything or make commitments on our behalf. You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn, and we may need tax information such as a W-9 or equivalent before paying you. This is not tax advice.
Fraud and reversals
We reverse commissions on orders that turn out to be fraudulent, self-bought, made with stolen payment details, or created by manipulating attribution. We may withhold a payout while we look into a pattern, and we will tell you plainly what we found.
Disclosure
You must clearly disclose that you earn a commission wherever you share your link, as required by the US FTC and similar rules elsewhere. A plain line such as "I may earn a commission if you purchase an eligible DockWise product through this link." is enough, placed where someone sees it before clicking. Never suggest that insurers, the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, manufacturers, marinas or any other third party endorse DockWise or your recommendation.
What is not allowed
Referring yourself or your own household, referring a dealership you own, manage or work for, arranging referrals between related people or businesses to collect commission, inventing or duplicating dealerships, buying through your own link, bidding on DockWise brand terms, spam, misleading safety or insurance claims, cookie stuffing, fabricated reviews, coupon-site abuse, and any attempt to create conversions that are not genuine. Breaking these rules voids unpaid commissions and ends participation.
Safety and accuracy
DockWise assists decision-making; it does not replace seamanship or professional survey. Do not promise guaranteed outcomes, insurance approval, or that a boat is safe. Never present DockWise as an endorsement of a specific boat or marina.
Your data and privacy
We collect only what the program needs: your name, contact email, where you will share DockWise, your payout country, and your own referral activity. Visits are recorded with a one-way fingerprint rather than a visitor's address. We never show you a referred customer's identity, and we do not sell your information. You can ask us to close your affiliate account and remove your details, keeping only what we must retain for payment and tax records.
Suspension, ending and appeal
Either side can end participation at any time with written notice. We may pause an account immediately where we reasonably suspect fraud or a rule breach. If we pause, reverse or end something, we will tell you the reason, and you have 30 days to reply with your side; a person reviews it and answers you. Approved commissions earned before the end date are still paid.
Existing customers and changes
Customers who already bought, and subscriptions already running, keep the terms they signed up under. DockWise may change or end the affiliate program with at least 30 days' notice for anything that reduces what you earn; commissions already approved are honoured under the terms in force when they were earned.
Governing law
These affiliate terms sit alongside the DockWise Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Like those Terms, they are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Your disclosure, in one line

Wherever you share your link (a post, a video description, an email, a newsletter), say plainly that you earn a commission. Copy this if it helps:

"I earn a commission if you buy DockWise through my link. I only share tools I'd use on my own boat."

Questions

How do you know a sale came from me?
When someone opens your link we record the visit on our server and store a signed marker in their browser for 30 days. If they buy an eligible product in that window, the most recent eligible affiliate link is credited.
When do I get paid?
A commission appears as soon as a payment succeeds, then waits 30 days so refunds and disputes can settle. After that it is approved and included in the next manual monthly payout run, once your approved balance reaches the minimum.
What happens if the customer gets a refund?
The commission is reversed in full. Commissions are only ever paid on money DockWise actually kept.
Can I buy through my own link?
No. Self-referrals are blocked automatically and repeated attempts end participation.
Do I have to tell people I earn a commission?
Yes. A clear line such as "I earn a commission if you buy through my link" is required wherever you share it.
Can I promise DockWise makes docking safe?
No. DockWise supports decision-making; the skipper is always responsible. Please never promise guaranteed outcomes, insurance approval, or that a boat is safe.

Privacy and cookies

An affiliate link stores one small marker in the visitor's browser for 30 days so we can credit you. It holds a referral code and nothing personal, and it is signed so it can't be tampered with. We record the visit with a one-way fingerprint instead of the visitor's address. See our privacy notice.
